|ALPHA-Beginning September 5th
Questions about life?
We are excited to announce that beginning this fall, the Alpha Course is coming to all SJB and SRB parish members, at no cost! Alpha is a series that invites participants to explore the meaning of life and the Christian faith, in a relaxed, friendly and open environment. Each week, we will look at different questions regarding faith, which is designed to create conversation. Listen, learn, discuss & discover. Ask anything. Alpha is run all around the globe and now is being offered here at our home joint parish of St. Robert Bellarmine and St. John Bosco…..everyone is welcome!
What Can I Expect from ALPHA?
Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch-up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. We start with a meal, because it’s a great way to encourage community and get to know each other.
The talks are designed to engage and inspire conversation. Generally 20-25 minutes long, the talks will be presented as via video. They explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions such as Who is Jesus? and How can we have faith?
Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas on the topic, and simply discuss it in a small group. There’s no obligation to say anything. And there’s nothing you can’t say. It’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective in an honest, friendly and open environment. Questions might include–Is there a God? Why am I here? What is my purpose? Where am I headed?
How can I register for Alpha?
